BURTON HERO 158 09/10
Featured Tech
- The Channel
The Channel is snowboarding’s most direct connection"focusing power through a central connection spine that evenly distributes energy for added rebound and snap. It works with both Burton’s 3D® and EST™ bindings, and lets you mount bindings to board any way you see fit. Easily dial in your stance width and angles with next-level micro-adjustability.

Rocker Shape
- The Freestyle Scoop *NEW*
This exaggerated spoon shape creates a more forgiving feel by turning the edges up at the tip and tail. We’ve taken the Scoop in two directions for 2010. The Park Scoop excels at jibbing, pressing, and buttering thanks to steeper, more aggressive scooping that extends slightly into the board’s running length. For a more versatile ride that adds looseness and float, the NEW Freestyle Scoop features mellower scooping that tapers off just before the contact points.

A three-stage rocker that’s equally fun from park to pow, V-Rocker™ features a center rocker between your feet, with additional rockers outside each foot that lift the tip and tail completely off the snow. Along the Channel zones, we added Pressure Distribution Edges for enhanced grip and power that balances the board’s loose and forgiving, skate-like feel. Together, the V-Rocker package energizes edge control while disengaging tip and tail contact points to create a catch-free feel that’s incredibly forgiving, floaty, poppy, and fun on all terrain.
Enjoyed by team riders such as Mikey Rencz, Marko Grilc, Chris Sörman, Sani Alibabic, Dimitry Fesenko, and Jack Mitrani.

Core
- Dualzone EGD
The wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for superior edge hold and added strength.
- Negative Core Profile
The team’s favorite profile features thinner sections of core between the bindings for softer flex and torsion. Perfect for everything from park, pipe, and pow to rails and boxes, these boards excel over a variety of terrain and conditions.
- Super Fly Core
Lightened up and loaded with pop, this vertical sandwich of hard and soft woods saves weight and improves snap and response.
Glass
- Triax Response Fiberglass
Versatile flex and response that’s capable of everything from straight-line big mountain descents to mellow laps through the park.
Base
- Sintered Base
Ultra-durable and highly porous, our sintered base’s superior wax absorption results in greater overall glide.
Shape
- Pro-Tip
Another Burton first. Tapering the thickness of the tip and tail dramatically reduces swing weight and creates a more playful flex in the tip and tail.
Pro-Tipcom.demandware.beehive.core.capi.domain.SimpleMediaFile@10732d5pdetail-board-shape-pro-tip.jpg - Twin-Like
Combining the twin aesthetics of a park board with the added versatility of a slightly directional shape, this design promotes precision in both directions while amplifying float, pop, and control in any situation.
Tuning
- Infinite Ride
This exclusive pop and power-enhancing technology allows us to maximize pop and strength by overbuilding the board, then putting it in a machine that breaks the board in for you. The result is a consistent feel from the first day forward, season after season.

Sidewall
- 10:45 Sidewalls
Extra-meaty 10:45 Sidewalls use two different angles to absorb the impacts that aggressive riders dish out.

Edge Technology
- Grip & Rip Edge Tune
Our tried and true edge tune, perfect for slicing and dicing the entire mountain to pieces.
- Pressure Distribution Edges
No fancy marketing campaign"just nine years of experience and another Burton breakthrough. The edges beneath the binding area extend out slightly for tremendous edge hold on hard, icy conditions, while remaining ever playful in soft snow. It’s there when you need it, yet can’t be noticed when you don’t.

- Twin
The flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile when ridden regular or switch.

Feel
- 2
To help simplify things, we`ve assigned a single "feel" rating to each of our boards. This number is based on a variety of factors including the board’s materials, shape, tip-to-tail flex, and torsion (aka edge-to-edge rigidity). This number is based on a scale from one to ten with one being softer and more relaxed and ten being most responsive. Keep in mind that a higher number doesn`t mean the board is more difficult to ride. It simply helps you compare boards within our line to determine which is best for your riding style.
